29×21 inches, watercolor on paper. I was primarily inspired by the dialog that Marcushio, (Romeo’s cousin) had in Romeo and Juliet, about the Queen of Dream.
Something about a fairy who rides in a chariot made of a chestnut, who dominates dreams, and crushes young maidens. I was very impressed by it, when I heard it.
I was working on this painting, and around this time, my friend Linda was caring for her nephew Khan. I was giving Khan an art lesson, and he ended up giving me an art lesson. He was drawing a bird mask. The concept was similar to what you see here.
