Basics of Communication and Art Workshop Sunday Oct 20th 10:00 AM-1:00 PM

Come out and meet new people, and paint, color, and express yourself, with artist Kathy Poitras for this live in-person artist-led interactive exercise

I believe each one of us is an artist, to some degree. Some have let their artistic self shine, and some have it buried within themselves. My passion is helping people discover their inner artist providing a safe and nonjudgmental space to help urge that artist to the surface. Learn some fundamentals of communication that you can immediately apply to create visually and also use in life.

Whether you are a person who has never painted or created art or an accomplished artist, you are welcome to attend. This workshop will be fun!

• At this workshop, we will:
  1. Watch a short film on the subject of Communication.
  2. Kathy will share some insights into art and communication and give some examples.
  3. We will do some drills together to increase communication within the group.
  3. You will create a picture on 11x17 inch bristol board or canvas to express a concept or emotion or object you wish to express. These supplies are provided. If you wish to paint a specific object that is not too large, please bring it with you.
  If you prefer to color an already created image, I will supply you with an 11 x 17 inch color your own Butterfly Lady You can still express yourself in the colors you choose.

The goal at this workshop is that your creation communicates. This is not a workshop on technique or artistic skill. Kathy will be there to assist you if you need help with anything.

  4, There will be music while you create. You may make requests for songs to listen to.
  5. Felts, Crayons, Pencil Crayons, Acrylic paint, brushes and watercolors are supplied. (They are workshop quality, not professional quality, so feel free to bring your own if you wish.
  6. Each person will receive a reference booklet, "Communication" (from the Scientology Handbook"
  7. At 11:30 we will have a half-hour break with Pizza, to socialize and make friends.
  8. At 12:00 we will continue to work on our picture.
  9. At 12:30 we will have show and tell, feedback, and photos.
  I have had feedback from my members who wish to have more time to paint and more time to socialize at my workshops. I am listening!
  I have added one hour to the workshop and added a 1/2 hour refreshment break for meeting people and socializing.

The Church of Scientology has been kind enough to allow me to use their seminar space for this workshop, (for FREE) but they do not sponsor me in any way.
I rely on donations from attendees to put on these workshops.

The recommended donation is $15.00.
